The 16.8.1 Designer Tubular round series iron baluster features a plain round bar. This baluster is hollow wrought iron and is 5/8″ round on the ends. It uses the shoes for the five eighth inch round balusters 16.3.35 and 16.3.36. This component pairs with all other Designer Tubular round series components.

- Remove the old balusters by cutting them in the middle and twisting out the ends.
- Drill a 3/4" hole about 1" deep in the bottom of the handrail and 2-1/2" to 3" deep in the tread, centered where each baluster goes.
- Measure each baluster: hole-to-hole distance plus the depth of the top hole. Cut the bottom with a metal chop saw or angle grinder.
- Slide a base shoe onto the baluster, insert the top into the handrail, then drop the bottom into the tread hole.
- Fill the tread hole with epoxy or construction adhesive, slide the shoe down and tighten its set screw.
