The 6210 Series Wide Colonial Handrail is specifically designed for larger staircase installations, particularly complementing staircases that incorporate large newel posts, such as box newels. This handrail shares similarities with the 6010 straight rail but distinguishes itself with a wider profile, making it a suitable choice for more expansive stair environments. Crafted to blend seamlessly with a range of architectural styles, the 6210 Series maintains the classic Colonial design, known for its versatility in various home and commercial settings. The wider profile of this handrail not only provides a robust appearance but also ensures a comfortable grip, which is particularly beneficial in larger staircases. As with the other handrail series, the 6210 is constructed to be free of knots and defects, ensuring a high-quality finish. Ready for staining upon delivery, we recommend a light sanding prior to staining to achieve the best finish, especially after installation. This handrail series is available in a variety of wood types, lengths, and construction styles, allowing for customization to meet the specific demands of your staircase project. The 6210 Series is also compatible with a comprehensive range of handrail fittings, suited to various stair configurations. It is available for order in quantities ranging from individual pieces to bulk orders for larger projects. 6210 Straight Handrail Measurements 2-3/8″ tall 2-5/8″ wide on top 2″ wide on bottom Available in the following construction styles and lengths: Solid Cap Hard Maple – 12 & 16 ft. Engineered Red Oak – 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 & 20 ft. White Oak – 12, 16 & 20 ft. Plowed Red Oak – 12, & 16 ft. Finger Jointed Red Oak – 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 & 20 ft.   1. Measure the run from newel to newel or wall to wall along the pitch.
  2. Cut the rail and any fittings with a fine-tooth miter saw.
  3. Join fittings with rail bolts and glue. Sand the joints smooth.
  4. Fasten to newels or wall brackets every 4 ft or less, then stain or paint.
